assisting with onboarding of new employees, providing primary office and phone coverage, coordination of various mass mailings, date stamping and daily mail sorting/delivery within the department, as well as tracking and managing corporate logistics requirements.
Essential Functions of the Position Works in accordance with the corporate HR department Maintains knowledge of labor laws, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Partners with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase retention, and foster positive environment.
Assists in the development and implementation of policies as well as provides guidance, interpretation, and advice to leaders.
Assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 401(k) plan.
Partners with leaders to resolve employee relation or disciplinary issues.
Ensures that investigations are thorough and objective.
Ensure employees gain an understanding of all benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
Assists in handling full cycle recruitment.
Plans, organizes and conducts HR related training.
Conducts new employee orientations.
Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
Assists with new-hire orientations.
Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility.
Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
Responds to benefits inquiries from manager and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork:
medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
Manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
Assists with the open enrollment process.
Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
Serve as the liaison between the Human Resources and Accounting Departments to communicate any payroll changes.
Researching and analyzing healthcare plans, including medical, dental, vision and disability insurance Designing comprehensive benefits packages to meet the needs and requirements of recently awarded contracts.
All other relevant duties as assigned.
Physical Demands Required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for long periods of time.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of benefits experience required (or an equivalent combination of education or experience combined).
Serve as the liaison between the Human Resources and Accounting Departments to communicate any payroll changes.
Able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Valid driver's license and ability to maintain post driving privileges.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Must have warehouse experience.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field.
Three or more years of related HR Generalist experience Experience in Human Services field a plus Strong project management, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
